Hello, my name is Sophie and I am 13 years old. I live in Berlin in Germany. I have been a vegetarian since birth. I don't eat meat because it is cruel to kill animals and because they cannot fight back.
I got to know Hannah through the penpal circular of the Vegetarian Society of the UK.

We write to each other, we send each other emails and we often spend holidays in England and Germany. Our families get on really well, because we all have the same reasons for being vegetarian !
Hannah is my best friend ! If we were not vegetarian, we would never have met !

Hello, my name is Hannah. I am 12 years old and I have been a vegetarian since birth. I live near London. I have known Sophie for a few years. I first heard about her through the Vegetarian Penfriend Circular from the Vegetarian Society of the UK.
We started to write in 1999. We have been best friends ever since.
We both love animals, especially farm animals like pigs and horses. We both like Art, we love drawing cartoon animals.
We love swimming, playing football, hockey and doing athletics. We like the same things so much that we are like sisters.
Our families get on really well with each other too and we have been in each other's house many times.

It's good to have a penfriend because I have discovered a new country and I have made lots of new friends.
