Youth education is very important so that young people have an
understanding
of issues such as animal rights, detriments of the meat industry, and health
and nutrition.
They can therefore make ethical choices in their daily life
and influence change.
So how can you
educate the youth? As a starting point, there is a briefing
about organizing school talks in your country on the
EVU website for you to
look at
http://www.euroveg.eu/lang/de/news/brochures/schooltalks.php.
Each country, however, has their own issues which needs to be focused on and
therefore this should be taken into
consideration. For example, your country
may need to focus on anti-vivisection education because this is the
main
issue.
As a follow up to the briefing, it would be of great help to know what your
thoughts
are, your experiences and problems regarding school talks, and what
issues you think are relevant to your country.
If you are able to do so, it
would be useful if you could write a short article about school education in
your country, which we could publish on the education section of the EVU
website.
This would be a
great way for everyone to learn about what goes on in
different countries with regards to school education, what
differences and
problems there are from country to country, and for anyone to make any
comments or
suggestions.
Many thanks,

I am you and you are me
by Dr. Janez Drnovšek, President
of Slovenia
I am you and you are me. Both of us feel the same, suffer the same. A human
is a human,
animals are animals, but we feel the same. Humans kill and eat
animals. Animals suffer. Humans kill humans,
although both feel and suffer
the same. Who can understand this world?
